  I am going chime in and clarify some things about "seeing" an aura.
  
  Most people (at least from my sampling) who claim to be able to see auras say that they technically are not seeing it with their eyes and recogize that its presentation is a result of their simply being tuned it to it. It does however seem to be processed visually in the same way a mirage or similar vision is.
  
  Who hasn't imagined that they saw something or someone (Lord knows we are in the right field for mistaken perception) visually that turned out to be in our minds. So yes, they "see" it visually but few claim it is because they have super vision or special eyes.
  
  One psychic that I have worked with lately claims that my aura projects symbols to her sometimes. One example is that once when I was attempting to quell a conflict between a couple of team members my aura changed color (I forget what color she said) and she saw peace symbols. Did she really see a peace symbol? Of course not and she doesn't claim that she did. She said that it was just her mind's way of processing the emotion and intent that I was projecting. In her opinion it showed that I was sincere and cared about the team members as opposed to just wanting them to drop it and not spoil my night.
  
  I am still SHOCKED that no one on here has offerred personal input on auras, chakras, or their ability to see/sense them. I am wanting to learn to see them to whatever degree I can (based on natural ability, mental training, meditation or whatever). It may never happen or my imagination may fill in the blanks, but it is still an interesting exercise.

  I have no personal experience related to auras. I claim a level of sensitivity but I would not claim to sense what might be called an aura. Perhaps the differentiation is only in how I interpret what I sense. I have only read and heard discussions about auras. I have never asked for an interpretation of any aura I may have. One of the psychics in our group has only offhandedly remarked that she did not see any darkness in my aura. This same person holds classes to teach people about any abilities they may have. As far as I know, she does not focus one developing any one ability, rather she helps her students identify the nature of their ability then guides them accordingly. I do not know what the success rate is. It may not be a matter of being trained to "see" them but more about being trained to interpret whatever innate abilities a person has.

  As a former practicing Reiki Master and former shiatsu student, all I can say is that I believe in Chi (or whatever term you choose for life force) and that it can be sensed by trained or intuitive people. However, because is it something I cannot prove and because I am a fallible human that can misread things due to suggestibility and other factors, I am uncomfortable to tell others what I have sensed if they were seeking advice or help. It is why I had a moral issue with charging for Reiki sessions and one of the reasons why I distanced myself from the community. I want to make it clear this is a personal choice for me, and in no way am I suggesting there is anything wrong with the practice.
  
  I have had a couple friends who claimed they could see auras after training and practicing meditation regularly for some time, at least a year or so.
