  Hey guys, I have another question regarding my Sony IC recorder, model # ICD-UX71. When I have been trying to open a folder up to record, knowing nothing is in it, my screen says "memory full" and does not record. I can't seem to find a way to erase it or clear any stuff that's on there that I need to get rid of. I have a big investigation coming up and need it ready to go. Help please! And thank you... ;-)

  I don't think I own that particular one (you know you have too many recorders when you can't remember which ones you have), but first try the obvious.
  
  Remove the batteries from it. Install new batteries (even if the old ones are good). This will completely reboot the system in case it was just a hardware issue.

  Ahh ok thanks Wes. I suppose I should also find the wires that connect it to the computer so I can save any files I haven't completely listened to yet. I'm apparently not very organized these days.

  I was able to finally figure out how to delete my old files. AND how easy it is to hook up the recorder to my comp. Trust me this is a huge accomplishment for me. ;-) haha

  I have an Olympus WS-400S and it works great. I originally bought it to take to meetings so I don't have to take notes. And it picks up speakers across the room that I couldn't originally hear because they forget to use the microphone! LOL.
  
  But I have to add a comment to Wes' Jan 8 statement...removing batteries from my model does not erase the memory. When switching out the batteries in the middle of an investigation, the files remained intact.
