  Thousands of cases of "possession" occur around the world every year. The Catholic Church even has a team of Exorcists--whether they deny it or not. Do you think possession is real? And if so, do you believe that a human being has the power to exorcise the spirit?

  No, and of course, my next answer would have to no as well. There are too many symptoms of possession that are also symptoms of mental disorder. Too many times, those with no education in either, jump to the conclusion that it is a possession.

  I am not a big believer in possession, but I have heard that it is 9/10’s of the law----Literally ;)

  Possession is a very touchy subject (sorry for the pun) but it depends who you talk to about it too, Yes I do agree with Rick about many, many cases that have been deemed possessions due to lack of knowledge or just plain ignorance.
  Here is a little test on this fact just go up to any 100 people randomly and ask how they see spiritual possession and at least 99% of them will give you the story of the "Exorcist" because that is what Hollywood has put into us through fear, besides disfigurement and rotating heads just can't happen, take away the dramatic music and you have someone looking very stupid.
  I believe in a form of possession but it is more like a fleeting, a pasting, or even just a form of channelling that a spirit is able to not enter the body but use some of our functions i.e. our eyes and speech to a point, but have no hold on us just like spiritual rape, and as soon as you are out of the environment the channelling stops.
  Is this fact on this is just my theory through observations throughout my time as an investigator and experiences, I think the most common one that most investigators can relate to is the feeling of great anger or of pain well that is a form of possession where the spirit has shared something of itself with you.

  So far in 2010 the Catholic Church has reported and verified 38 cases of possession. It may be more now. It has been all over the news for a couple of months now. Someone has even made a movie about It called 39. I think it opens today.
  
  I am not that big of a believer in possession, But for the Catholic Church to release this information there must be something to it.
  I do know if you give a spirit permission to enter your body they can. People may be allowing this to happen and don't know how to get rid of them once they enter the body. Some Spirits may be strong enough to enter someone without their permission If that person has little or no resistance to them.
  
  I have seen people have seances with no ideal to what they are doing and no protection of any kind. When you open your body up in this ay and ask or even beg a spirit to enter, You better have control of what is going to enter the body.
  
  I am not a believer in Demons or Angels but I do believe in Earth Spirits which amounts to about the same as some call Demons or Angels. So to answer your question Yes I believe in possession. I have seen it first hand and even cured some. Not all cases are possession. Some has to do with drugs and mental illness. But according to all the reports I think that possession is very real and is on the rise.
  
  Food for thought, I know that everyone has heard about 2012 and is getting sick hearing about it. But maybe we been looking in the wrong direction. Maybe it could be a rise in the spirit world.

  I believe in demonic possession, but I do not believe that a human being can exorcise a demon. I think most possessions are manifestations of deeper psychological issues or the result of religious brainwashing.

  Demonic possesion?? ...mmmmm not so sure. People suffer from paranoia, schizophreniaetc ...this can lead to, what seems like demonic possesion? ...but what triggers these conditions? we can kind of see whats happening inside ...but do we understand why? ....are the demons, rather than 'roaming around' looking to possess us, already inside us, and if we give them a chance make our thought process bad, i mean we are all, regardless of religion, nature etc,...made up of good and bad, negative and positive, so it figures if we allow one side dominance (the bad side) it will manifest as demonic possession? hey sorry if this is coming over as the ramblings of a madman!! i'm just typing as i'm thinking!! ;o)

  I just always see things working using opposites ...its how the whole world works ...from batteries to the seasons ....it only figures that we work the same ...well physically we do!! we are like a bio battery!! positive and negative ...its how our bodies transport signals! so then it sounds right to say our 'spiritual' side or thought processes work on opposites? ....light and dark, good and bad, god or devil!! you need to feel cold to appreciate been warm, you need to feel sadness to appreciate been happy!! we do need the balance!! So it would seem obvious that we can allow the bad to have dominance sometimes ...we all get bad thoughts etc ... but sometimes it gets extreme ... and although this is our own darkness ..is it been controlled or instigated by an outside negative force? it would figure ..if we are all connected to something bigger via our souls/spirit ...whatever.

  I am not a Christian so I hope that thjis dosen't offend anyone. But you hear people say all the time that they are possessed by God. The Holly Ghost so to speak and people find it easy to believe in Angels. So why is it so hard to believe that the Devil don't have that same power to possess people.If God can possess some one to get them to speak in toungs or to pass out then why wouldn't the Devil have the same power. You can't believe in the good without believeing the bad.d7G

  Very true BBBill ....you can't have good without bad! and it figures that the bad can have the same influence over us as the good!
