Ok, FWIW...
PX, ghostbox, Ovilus, etc... are all subjective ITC devices. I personally believe that they work (some of the time) and I am often crucified for said belief. By work, I mean that they fall under the influence of an external force, and can trend to situationally pertinent answers and information.
Here is where the problem comes into play. Based off my own experience with these devices, I know something is going on. I cannot, however, with any confidence say what is going on. I won't say it is ghosts or whatever that is communicating, but it certainly seems that something paranormal is at hand. That being said, I don't think that we can included this is objective evidence until we have a better understanding of the mechanism at work that allows these external forces to influence this equipment. Even then, often the messages are unreliable, which brings into question the motive of these external forces....
It seems absurd on the surface. In the instance of the ovilus, PX, or any other ECM based ITC method out there....That a ghost or spirit has the technical knowledge to know what specific phoneme or word matches the energy value they input (depending on device it can range from 72 phonemes or allophones to 512 words for ovilus all the way up to 2048 words for the PX). That is a lot of EMF value calculation and manipulation. And remember that the more options, the more precise the value selection for interaction must be. Even assuming that the emf/word selection process was easily learned, choreographing an energy matrix to conduct a conversation in the right order sounds absurd.
That being said, I believe it works. Since receiving my PX, I have had several wow moments. In dictionary mode, I left it running on my desk and within several seconds of pulling up the local news channel on my computer, the thing came to life and spit out the word "news". No other words were spoken at this time. Later, when driving by pastures at night looking for cows to test recognition distance with my FLIR, the once again previously quiet PX said a single word.....COW. As I passed under an overpass, it said "under" and later when I bitched about how slow my wife was driving it said "Drive......fast".
These things are all pretty subjective and coincidental, but the odds of contextually accurate words or the repeating of a word that I say is 1 an 2048 on the PX. Imho this is to big to be coincidence, but that is my opinion only. I do not think that I have had any contact with a spirit with this device and do think that these above mentioned examples have more to do with operator PK elements than ghosts.
That brings us to ghost boxes. Again it can sound absurd, as we are using chunks of audio from the broadcast band and relying on the entitiy we are trying to communicate with to have the precognition enough to know what radio station is playing the chunk of audio that we need at the perfect time to influence the sweep enough to produce a message. That is assuming a lot to think that a ghost can not only figure out a way to influence the sweep, but have precognitive ability enough to know how to pick out specific audio bits that are relative to your "conversation". That being said, I believe it works as well (to a degree).
Having had gb sessions call me by my first and last name, as well as correctly identify my location by name, I was immediately impressed. Ongoing sessions never produced anything as spectacular as my first ones, but they are still impressive. My favorite instances involve the use of extreme profanity. It is a given that these words are not part of radio broadcasts, etc... Unfortunately, beyond validation that a phenomenon is going on, usually the messages are random and their information is for the most part unreliable. So is it a joke for them? Who knows, but it, like it's ecm method counterparts, must remain subjective experimentation until we have a solid grasp on what is allowing this type of "communication" to occur.
I always encourage the experimentation in ITC methods to attempt to get a more clearer answer. Just be responsible and do not rely on these methods and above all to provide their results and evidence to a client.
