I've seen these gadgets at work a few times during investigations. Seems really cool. The first time it seemed to be drawing from the live humans in the room. For example, it kept saying Africa and my ex is from Nigeria. It also kept saying drinking and drunk and a couple of people in the room had snuck away from the group to go drinking (I could smell it on them). On a different investigation, where there was only two of us in the room, it seemed to be drawing from what we knew of the history of the buidling. Since the tool is still "experamental" its not presented as evidence (except on Ghost Adventures!) but I would love to have one when I can save enough pennies to be able to afford it.
Anyone want to share your experience?
This the one I saw in action...

It was VERY cool. The voice is very mechanical and honestly I didn't always understand exactly what word it was saying so, though you lose mobility, hooking it up to a computer is better so you can see the word that's being spoken.
Our group has several experimental pieces of equipment -- We have and utilize an Ovilus and the PSX which has an advanced Ovilus and visual IR reads -- We have utilized EMF Pumps - the PX -- and have ordered in some advanced
models of both the pump and Ovilus II -- It's like any piece of equipment -- sometimes the results have been near amazing- We have managed to conduct question and answer sessions with the Ovilus and of course the response is immediate. Then again - sometimes we have gotten nothing -- We have also tried the Ghost Communicators - with mixed results. I think it;s important to have several options when investigating the paranormal. We don't really know how they are able to utilize energies -- i don;t think the equation is a constant. So i equate it with fishing in that some lures work better under variant conditions. The standards are still the standards -- rods have proven invaluable -- we have gotten amazing recordings over the years with the old standards. So much comes down to your funding. The new DVR IR Video systems are great for filming indoor situations. Some of the most intensive connections with the other side have produced minimal documentation results with the equipment. I think the experimetal equipment is evolving and would say none of it is an absolute essential - but can be a useful addition to your tools. I hope that helps --
