Hay Boo's! Ok, here's the Reader's Digest version of what's going on.
A. I'm the only one in my family who has ever been interested in anything paranormal. I grew up in an ordinary house where I had my first memorable "ghost" experience.
B. My brother now owns that house and last spring he confided that he's had lots of experiences in the house over the years - many that have, according to him, kept him up or away.
C. So, last night out of the blue he calls me, partly laughing at first, but nervous laughter, and from someone else's house. Seems recently he's had some stuff happen that's really bothering him. Specifically, a photo of my sister, brother, and I which sits on a corner table, keeps moving and tipping over. There are no animals in the house and he is nearly anal in his fastidiousness about keeping the place clean, spare, and well ordered, so there is nothing near the photo either. So the other day the photo finally falls all the way to the floor from it's place tucked back on the corner table. Yesterday evening it not only fell but managed to get from the table over to, and under the piano, where the glass smashed. (about 8 feet away)
My brother (Chuck) is about as no nonsense a guy as I know, so just him telling this to me is stunning. The fact that he called me about it - extraordinary. Anyway, he said he couldn't get his boots on fast enough and left the house and was NOT planning on going back until this morning.
Side stuff: He is putting a major addition on the house and so half of it is currently a construction zone. There are no known deaths in the house or around the property. My uncle (dad's brother) died right around Thanksgiving, but I don't think he really cared all that much about us, so unless he's trying to say he's sorry for ignoring us all our lives I don't think it would be him (tho, who knows).
Anyway, here's the main thing. My brother is a bit afraid. Again, totally unlike him. His first thought is that it's my dad trying to let him know that maybe he did something wrong. (My dad, apparently, shows up at the house often - he was the first paranormal experience I had too). I tried to explain to Chuck that it could be anything/one just trying to get his attention and that he shouldn't feel scared or bad that he's done something wrong - unless he has :).
As most of you know, I'm not "that" kind of a paranormal investigator so I don't really know what to do to help him. I have an emf gadget for each hand that I've used for fun in my own house but that's about it. I even have a digital recorder but don't really know how to use it. He's looking to me to DO something so I could really use some advice in order to help him try to figure out what might be going on.
Thanks for any/all input. I'll be there on the 25th, but as the rest of the family and friends are NOT particularly appreciative of anything that smacks of the paranormal, any thought of an overt "haunted holiday investigation" might not be well received. (Not that I can't go any other time - he's not very far away)

Is there any additional significance to this picture...who took the picture...was it given as a gift...did it belong to someone else before your brother? If this is your father or uncle, might they be trying to call attention to the relationship between you and your syblings? (I say this due to recent events in my own life.)
Maybe leaving a different object on the table to see what happens. Particularly if you can use an object or objects that may have been special to a specific person.
