Interesting theory. I wish I knew enough to support or debunk it, but the truth is that I often wonder why we can't seem to corner one of these things if they are, in fact, flesh and blood creatures.

I do not follow the “Bigfoot” phenomenon very closely either. The shapeshifter concept is intriguing but I’m not sure this video gives it much credibility; not sure that any existing video would. This video certainly isn’t “irrefutable”. The images in this video or so pixilated and blurry, I don’t believe any determination holds up to scrutiny very well. Poor video quality can make many things look as if they are changing shape and make very ordinary things look quite extraordinary. It seems to me, the reports of ape-like creatures would be somewhat less consistent if the creatures were shapeshifting. It seems there would be more reports of generally odd looking creatures; particularly if they “struggled” in the act of changing shape.
All said, I suspect the odds of finding a flesh and bone Bigfoot are much higher than that of finding/proving the existence and nature of “ghosts”.

Growing up in Northern California, I have taken a cursory look into the legend. Many Native Tribes (across the country) believe in such a creature. While some claim it is a supernatural creature such as a demon or a shape-shifting, interdimensional being, many others consider it a living, flesh & blood creature; either a wildman or animal. I admit, I am biased towards the latter theory because Native people I talked with encountered a living animal. I agree with Rob that the odds of finding a Bigfoot are far greater than finding ghosts. At least they know the nature of what they are looking for and can work with tangible evidence.I admire the work of Dr. Meldrum. IMO, his credentials and field experience gives respectibility to the research. He advocates for more serious research into Bigfoot by trained scientists from various disciplines. As far as this video, personally, I see more evidence of pareidolia than shapeshifting (or Bigfoot).
